The importance of having a flexible work for men is no less important than having one for women, the decisions to implement flexible workplaces should be made based on industry type and not budgetary requirements which is most often the reason behind a Flexible Workplace implementation in the first place. Generally speaking, men do not require any more or less systems in place to adopt flexible Workplaces.
I have designed and implemented Flexible workplaces for companies, and the following items remain consistent across various industries:
- Staff, both men and women, will generally after a while form neighbourhoods, which means they may move from seat to seat but will generate stay in the same area with the same people.
- The variety of workspaces cannot suit everyone and will generally suit a majority of the staff
- Flexible workplaces will not suit all types of industries and individuals and have shown that some staff feel alienated by this style.
- If the change Management is not done properly with right amount of engagement with the staff there may be further issues and could impact staff productivity.
- The back end systems like lockers and storage must be considered and the amount of space that is used in the tenancy to implement Flexible Workplace Services.
